Fish out of water

by Antonia di Sogni D oro   Apr 27, 2007

Cool
So solitary, alone
But with a kid here
or a car there

The shag saw the fish out of water
Within a flash! a minuscule second!
It devoured poor fishy whole.

Warm
were the rays,
Strokes of golden thanks
glimmered on the harbor

The fish had taken
one last gasp of life
Its tiny bones arrived in the
belly of the bird.

Alive, so alive
my bones tingled with
the gentle sea breezes

Yet i am a fish out of water
