Can some one help me?

I know this is supposed to be a poem, but i need some advice from some one please.

I met this guy like a year and a half ago. I think I fell in love with him even though he has a little baby girl, and she is almost one. we share something that I can not explain. But the thing is He is leaving for the army and will be gone for 8 months. he does not want to be together because he is leaving. I totally understand but, he says maybe when he comes back we could try. But my heart is breaking. He is the only thing on my mind all the time.

    I think if you truly love him, you'll wait for him. My boyfriend is gonna be going into the navy when he gets out of school in a couple years, and he's gonna be gone for four years. So I know the heartbreak you're feeling. It's gonna be tough but I'm sure you'll make the best of it. :]]

    I understand the feeling in it, and what you feel. But try to make what you say in the sentences shorter, use other words, and make it less story like...but that's about all I can say, But it's a good poem
