She Does

by Lyndsay Kalyta   Apr 30, 2007

Two months until she's 19
She is growing up so fast
She hopes all her memories
Are strong enough to last

She pulled down the cardboard box
That held the pictures of him
The dusty photographs remind her
Of what she used to be in

But his smile is faded
Just like the love he gave
She planned to build her future with him
But things didn't work out that way

He was her first
And will always hold her heart
She can feel him next to her
Even after this time apart

He left for a good reason
He was following his dream
She knows he won't be back
But she tries real hard to believe

She knows she must let go
Of what they were because
She hates the fact that she cries
But she does
