You destroyed the person who wouldve pushed you towards success.

by Behind Blue Eyes   May 2, 2007

The time is up.
Will this be our final goodbye?
It's a yes or no answer,
In which you can't tell a lie.
This has gone on long enough,
And I need a response.
I promise, while you're standing here,
I'll keep my nonchalance.
Just deliver the bad news,
Let me go on with my life,
I have the knowledge that I wasn't good enough
Intensifying my strife.
You said that I was too good for you
But I'm sure that you're mistaken.
You knew you were too good, that's why you're gone,
And I'm stuck here forsaken.

Please, don't, whatever you do,
Tell me this is for the best.
Those lieing words should be put to shame,
The truth is that I didn't pass your test.
You'll pretend that this is killing you
And that I'm the one in luck.
But careful, lightening can hit indoors,
And that line will get you struck.
Just tell me that I'm not worth it.
I'm more trouble than I am good.
You tried to end this earlier,
But you didn't think you could.

So tell me another lie
And walk away from this place.
Tell me it pains you too much
To see the tears upon my face.
It's not like my heart hasn't been broken enough.
My agony could be more severe.
Keep it up, you've almost driven me
To the point where I permanently make myself dissapear.
