I wish you could see

There is so much I wish you could see,
blinded by the wishes of what used to be.
But only I can tell of that other girl,
that girl that lives in me.

The one so skilled at silence,
covering the pain and grief so few can unveil,
the secrets I wish to say but could never reveal

Her mask is one I know so well
for it is what i see in my reflection

I wish you could have known,
the girl you once said you loved.
