It never was

Deep thoughts of nothing
loudly ringing in my mind.
Quietly disturbing.
The silence is so unnerving.

Thoughts of...
that which will never be.
A touch, a caress, a tear.
It just will not happen.

Or will it?
It keeps me awake
It invades my space
Wash it away with your tears.

How can I move on
with your touch...
your caress...
just out of reach.
