The Promise

by Molly Knudsen   May 9, 2007

I hear a wolf call out to the night,
As he howls his song the moon shines bright,
I sing a few notes in tune with their song,
I know in my heart it's with you I belong,
I whisper three words softly into your ear,
Speaking so quiet only you and I can hear,
I call out to you as you call out to me,
We share a bond that the whole world can see,
The ties that we have can never be broken,
They've been reinforced with each word we've spoken,
I lie in your arms as softly I sigh,
Happy for our promise to never say good-bye.
If you were to leave me you know I would cry,
Because I'll keep my word to you until I die,
So I'll never leave you and I won't say good-bye,
We'll never part until the two of us die.
