My Sweet Relief

by Amanda Brown   May 10, 2007

Blood streaming through my fingers
Like water down a rocky ravine
My life staining my pale skin
My soul entering the Divine

I felt the knife my sweet relief
As I slid through my soul
I freed my spirit to leave this world
But without you I'm not whole

The knife drops heavy from my hand
I hear it hit the floor
My body laying still and silent
Thinking of my mentor

Do you believe the words you said
Those words that pierced my heart
Do you think they helped me to move on
The distance that keeps us apart

You'll never understand my suicide
Unless you find the right question
In my head, my heart divided
Hell on earth, hell in heaven
