The Goodbye I Never Got to Say

by Rhinehalt   Apr 16, 2004

I wasn't old enough
To understand,
But all I care for
Was the joy
Mommy was going to bring home.
Except on that fateful day
My little sister,
I always wanted,
Never came to me.
The joy of waiting
To see her smiling face,
It never came.
The four year old child
That knew she was coming,
It was me.
I cannot remember the time,
But the pain still remains.
The tiny pulling at the heart
That let's me know
I still love her.
That's the part
That made me cry
On that day,
On November 3.
What makes me cry now
Is one reason.
I never got to say
Goodbye
To my sister
With little angel wings.
