You see theres freedom, so we follow

by Stephanie Naylor   May 13, 2007

Days when i feel i cant go any further
i hear your voice encouraging me to go on

but on this trail
bound by shackles

to the rest
we walk barefoot

on this path
you say that leads to freedom

we wait and it seems there is no freedom of safety
you beat us everyday and make us do everything for you

we are tired of being the white mans
owned and bound by nothing
* * *

an elder falls to the ground shaking
wailing for them to wait

everyone stares waiting and watching
but i, i am the brave one

i but a little girl
walk up to her

and get on my knees and hold her
as she cries

sure enough in minutes
she is dead

i cry to the heavens

she was a great woman
WE DON'T DESERVE THIS

-----------------------------------------------------------------
i am white, but we have been talking about abolitionists( people against slavery) and it was inspiration

The message was great in this poem well done on writing about this topic it was interesting capturing and inspiring. One thing though you need to do is capitlize your "I's" Other then that everything else seemed sport on. Good effort and creative.~mel
