The Window

by Marylou L   May 14, 2007

I long for the window.
It glistens and gleams.
Its shine provokes me,
What sign does this mean?
I long for the window,
So I head for the light
I step on through and join a new flight.
The brightness blinds me
As I make my way through.
This is so much better then just staring through.
This window I long for
This bright, and this new.
This life of mine has started anew.

I have read the comment already about this poem, i think anyone reading this poem should understand one simple rule about reading any kind of literature ... The author should not have to explain it all to you!
If you read one thing into it, that is what the poem means, if i read something else - that is what the poem means. The author puts something into words to bring the readers imagination alive. That's what you have accomplished with this piece.

As sad as this may be, this poem for me is entirely about death .. it screams it out at you! "long for the window, head for the light" "this life of mine has started anew"
It looks at the lighter side of passing.

I truly love this poem, I think it is quite simply wonderful.

I'm not just shocked, but shocked and appalled that this has been marked at a 4.

To the author .. Do not let comments/ratings here stop your will to write. If this is anything to go by, you have some amazing pieces of art in you!
