The Road Ahead

by Suri dawn   May 15, 2007

I stand in a crowded street screaming,
but I'm alone in a distant land.
I yell out but no one sees me.
I just don't know where to stand.

The road ahead looks dark and gloomy.
The road behind has disappeared.
My world has started spinning.
My feet are frozen still with fear.

My blue eyes just stare blankly,
but the heart behind them is full of pain.
No one sees the little girl inside,
trapped by unknown chains.

While the world spins around me,
my feet are unable to move.
I stand on broken glass and nails,
but my heart won't spin. With pain it's soothed.

I'm not sure if it's the little girl,
or if all this pain comes from me.
Either way we are both dying.
Someone needs to be set free.

The road ahead looks dark and gloomy,
but if I stop and turn around;
The past road has disappeared,
leaving a high cliff, and below, the ground.

The world still spins as I fall.
I scream but they only stare.
The little girl stayed up there with them.
I hardly think it's fair.

I lay here slowly dying,
as the little girl walks away.
I set her free to kill another.
She steals their souls still today.
