Books

Books

It is not a surprise,
That I like to read.
Big words and small font,
Thousands of pages, I'll take novels please.
Takes up my spare time,
So many types to choose from.
Get them from the library, they are never truly mine.
Romances with no rising sun,
Action books with many a gun.
Dramas that provide suspense,
Sarcastic comedies that have no sense.
Fairytale fantasy's that help me dream,
Sci-Fis that parade stars and planets that almost gleam.
One day I wonder, if I will,
Become part of the everlasting thing called imagination,
That is sparked by reading that always fulfils.
One day I will fall into a book,
And be part of it until I finish the very last page.
Then I will indulge in another.
When I read I feel no rage.
I feel nothing but what emotions I am reviewing.
I fall so deep that I feel what the character is feeling.
Not seeing what is at the end.
It is no surprise,
That I love to read.

Great poem!! I'm a book collector. (Or at least that's how I explain why I buy and read hundreds of books.) Keep writing, and keep reading.

I loved this...it was original and unqiue in concept, beautifully and elegantly written and made for a refreshing change.

P.S The inspiration for Glass Heart-Sunny gave me the title and I took it from there.
