Wreck

by sibyllene   May 17, 2007

A life may be shattered,
beautifully.
A lining of ice
cracked into
a lovely oblivion-
a diamond
smashed and ground
into the velvet darkness
of the sky...

My skin, it
now encases me-
thin, spun glass.
I want to
reach out
with fists clenched
and shatter it.
Then,
destroyed, I could
move,
and feel,
and breathe-

It would be smashed then, sure
my poor
demolished life-
but it would still
look so pretty, don't you think?
a thousand shards
of broken, empty light.
