The Lies

She said it's too late
He said you have to wait
She says I'll move on
He says I'll be gone

She holds on too long
It all feels so wrong
Cries all those tears
Says goodbye to those years

He pretends not to feel
Pretends it's not real
Says it's not there
Says he doesn't care

She avoids his eyes
She will no longer try
Says it's all in the past
It came and went fast

He doesn't need her
Doesn't care what they were
He tries to find another one
Cause with her he is done

She says they'll be friends
He says always, till the end
She says let's forget everything
He says it was just a fling

She's dealing with it well
Says there's nothing left to tell
Yet through the nights she will cry
But to him she will lie

He's all over other girls
She didn't effect his world
He says there's no emotion
No need for devotion

She finally starts to let go
Says that she will say no
It's time to take a stand
She lets go of his hand

He's caught off guard
He sees that it's hard
Starts to rethink his moves
Wondering what he's trying to prove

She knows there's something there
He knows they both care
She knows it's not long till when
He knows they'll happen again
