You'll Never Know...

What you see is but a mask
To hide from you my painful past
Inside my secret love of you
But even that is hidden too
I struggle with myself each day
To find the words I want to say
But the same day my fear prevails
I hide once more for again I've failed
Will I ever gain enough bravery
To voice this feeling inside of me?
But then I think the time is right
I'll say to him what I think each night
But at that moment when our eyes meet
My confidence goes and my knees feel weak
Instead of saying that "I love you"
I turn and say "Hey, what's up dude?"
While smiling weakly and almost in tears
I'll never say what I'll always hold dear.
