My Daisy

by Lyndsay Kalyta   May 26, 2007

I found a precious daisy
One I can call all my own
And I promise to care for it
Until it is full grown

It sways in the wind
It bends towards my heart
If someone else would pick it
I would for surely fall apart

So simple, yet amazing
I catch myself starring in awe
The definition of perfection
I have yet to find a flaw

I wish to be its sun
And the rain that feeds its soul
I will be its shelter
When the weather gets out of control

I will plant it in my heart
And watch it forever bloom
I promise to keep it beautiful
Let it wilt, I will never do

I know I am the luckiest girl
And my heart will continue to shine
As long as from now on
I will have you, this daisy of mine
