Don't Wait

by Tyler   May 26, 2007

And here we are, shaking in your bones,
as you stand waiting in this cold,

the cold, it requires warmth,
yet the warmth you require does not concern this cold,
and the cold you feel is but only now prompted,
by your wait and by your shake.

You feel like the restless one now,
you feel-
and you know-
the ugly-
and the terror,
of something that is missing,
or not right, as it seems:
and through all of this you know,,
how you feel, but-
you continue to be cold,
and you wait-
despite the protest of your heart.

but, if we’re quiet then we would see,
that there is depth-
to this, that we would rather not face.
and in agony we ask ourselves why is it-
that people cannot speak to one another, why is it-
that we are so, cold, and here we wait here and shiver,
rather than take a step.

One breath, or, one word,
and we could feel like-
we have and that-
we know and-
we would feel the rhythm that is like rhythm of our heart.
And in this motion we would find new colors,
and we could be proud of who we are.

If all it takes is this one step,
then let us step for all we're worth.
