Beloved

Do I dare touch thee while thee gently sleeps?
as tears fall from my eyes as I sorrowfully weep.
to wake thee up from thy slumber so deep?
to see thy eyes of crystal shine so bright,
as I fall to my knees in the pale moon light,
and declare my sweet love for thee this night.
I kiss thy hand as thee sleeps so sound,
a more precious one could never be found,
for my heart and my soul are chained to thee and bound.
Nothing could separate me from thee my love,
nothing below, here on earth or above,
As thy is lost in a world of dreams,
down thy chest, my tears tenderly stream.
On this beautiful night nothing is what it seems.
I listen close and hear thy heart beat soft and slow,
thy hair gently moves as the wind begins to blow.
My love, signs of morning are commencing to show.
I leave thee now with a soft sweet kiss.
Thee will wake to nothing, not even this,
but my heart has suffered the greatest miss.
My beloved, softly sleep till morning breaks,
memories and dreams of thee I hold and take.
As I leave thee now my whole world despairingly shakes.
