The Midnight Stranger

by Jemarie   Jun 3, 2007

I sensed the presence in the dark
The filthy body against my back
And though I was just half awake
I felt the roughness stroke my neck

With unexpected strength I leaped
And peeled the alien off myself
Incensed at being violated
I vowed to fight it till the end

In stealth I groped for something solid
Something deadly to attack with
But the only lethal thing I saw
Was a pencil for my eye brow

I hurled my weapon at the beast
And hope to maim it in the least
But the aim had gone so poorly
I missed the target shamefully

Enraged at my hostile response
The rascal lunged at me at once
Scared, I stepped back hastily
I tripped and fell miserably

Humiliated, I went nuts
I grabbed my slipper and my guts
And when it finally approached
I swat my enemy, the cockroach!
