The Wick

Strike a match
Watch it glow
Drink of the heat
Taste it slow

Light a candle
Burn the wick
Lay here with me
Come to bed quick

Gaze into my eyes
Stare into their flame
Take my love seriously
Realize this is not a game

As the flame consumes the wick
And the light grows dim
Say with your eyes you love me
Do it at your whim

As darkness blankets your face
The wick and the flame die
For it has served its purpose
It revealed the love in your eye

    ''Come to bed quick''

    I thought the flow was off in that line, which threw me a little.

    Apart from that one line however, I frikken LOVED this.
    The opening was so powerful, beautiful and intense at the same time, it really pulled me in, and after the first few lines I was completely hooked.

    The ending was beautifully written, I found it to be sweet and moving.
    Flow was good for the most part, except for the line I mentioned, I think you did a wonderful job with this.
