What you really need

by Angela   Jun 11, 2007

You were always this scavenger in the desert,
Ever readily sourcing for water
One day you stumbled upon this huge oasis
Which contained all the water you needed
Pretty and inviting at the same time

You couldn't wait but run towards it
Drinking all the water it had to quench your thirst
Simply failing to notice the cactuses standing around it
Also holding the fluid you wanted

The sharp thorns turned you off,
And your immediate need blinded you
Should you have been more patient to extract
Whatever water there was within the green thorny plant
You would have realized

What was inside, was what you actually needed.

WOW great poem ,I liked the way it told the message, very well done, if only everyone would stop and look at whats on the inside instead just seeing the outside maybe , love wouldn't be so bad, great poem, well written and vocabulary was excellent, great job, 5/5, your friend Tracy d
p.s most people that read this will never get the message , but I did thanks for sharing.
