Another Day Gone

by Twisted Heart   Jun 12, 2007

The sun has dipped its golden head
Behind the mountain, there to hide
Against the breath of shadows deep
Comes a windswept lullaby.

Stars peek upon the earth so still
The moon shines such a lovely glow
A sweet caress of heaven's light
Tend to the ground below.

The swirling sounds of whippoorwills
Cascading from the maple branch
Into the herald of distant tunes
Lend to the starry dance.

Another day has come to rest
Beneath the night in slumber deep
Within the realm of curtains drawn
Daylight goes to sleep.
