Hidden Faces.

by Megann Lee   Jun 14, 2007

All seems fine, when viewed from the outside.
Push past the faces, that hide the first skin.
Soon you'll break those walls that remain.
Times takes strength and time takes faith.

You'll see the countdown has begun.
But you'll soon find out you are wrong.
I offer my hand, and I offer my heart.
I'll be your net for when you have fallen.

The pieces with break, shatter and smash.
I'll be the light that lights up your dark.
The glint of hope that flickers inside your heart.
I'll be the love, saving you from the worst.

Look past the faces that hide it all.
I'm that girl that wasn't like the rest.
The one that caught your eye from the start.
I'll be that girl who will never turn her back.

I'll be the fear that holds back all the tears.
Yet the finger who brushes them when they fall.
I'll sit by you, till the very last breathes inhaled.
Let you hear my last words of just how much I cared.

Nothing is ever always OK, no one is always fine.
I'll be the one rocking you to sleep when sleep won't come.
My arms are going to be the new walls that'll protect you.
My voice the one that soothes you and tells you it's OK.

I'll have you know, I'm not always the one who's right.
I take pride in being a perfectionistical know it all.
But I'll tell you that you are wrong, my darling you are.
Just about one thing--that is though, so no fears.

Don't hide from me, don't put those faces up.
Pull them down and I'll prove I'm strong enough.
Sometimes I seem, weak at the first glance.
But baby, we are a team of two, let me prove it to you.

You'll see the countdown has begun.
But you'll soon find out you are wrong.
I offer my hand, and I offer my heart.
I'll be your net for when you have fallen.
