Beautiful Liar

by Sweet Fragility   Jun 22, 2007

Sitting on my couch and drinking my beer,
You are not the one who belongs here.
Your mouth touches mine with a tender kiss
Reminding me of all I would miss.

Your love for me shines in your green eyes,
They can no longer hide your countless lies.
Your fingers lightly graze my delicate skin,
Making me forget your faults within.

When I gaze into your face and say, 'I love you,'
You smile and nod like you feel what I do.
When you repeat those same words that I say,
It sounds like you do not care if I left that day.

It is these little things that make me see,
That you and I are not meant to be.
I now realize you are a beautiful liar
But it is too late, you are all I desire.

People, akin to this 'beautiful liar', brought such dread in this world. But then and again, aren't we, as humans, beautiful liars as well?

Reading this piece brought into play countless of questions in my mind. Thanks for sharing it with us, with me.

I don't like it. Last stanza is great but others are bad. I won't rate it but I know that you can write much better.
