Darling, I Love You

My Dearest Andrew,

I have a little letter that's written from my heart -
We really have no beginning, so I didn't know where to start.
The past is kind of fuzzy, where the days begin and end,
But through it all, I could always call you my friend

Andrew, I've wanted to tell you how much you mean to me.
What would I do without you? Where would I be?
These feelings I had have been kept quite hidden,
And I'm questioning myself if they are forbidden.

Your big blue eyes, so caring, they understand;
Calmness brought on by the touch of your hand.
No matter what's wrong, you're there to hold me tight.
To help me get through those dark, stormy nights.

Spending countless hours on the phone, I can't even keep track;
Helping me move on and not letting me look back.
Words can't describe how I feel about you -
But, I do know that they're nothing but true.

If I could shout it so the whole world could hear,
Or whisper it softly to anyone near,
Then they would know what I'm feeling inside -
And maybe they could begin to help me describe.

My heart has endured almost its limit on pain -
But you make it disappear like the sun with the rain.
Three little words can't sum up my heart,
But I guess that's the best place to start.

Andrew, I love you, the cliche lost on me.
Saying that to you is so easy.
Never have I spoken more true words,
Nor has there been any others I've heard.

There are no words to describe how I feel.
Never in my life have I felt anything this real.
As I sit here and try to make words come to mind,
I'm realizing that there are not any to find.

All the words that I know don't fit that mold.
Apparently, there are some, or so I am told.
So I guess for now, those three will have to do.
