Porcelain Doll

by Josephina Ariel   Jul 2, 2007

I am watching her
As she falls to her knees and cries
But I am only seeing her through glass eyes
The whole world knows her as perfect
We are the only ones who know shes really not
The girls hate her because shes beautiful
And the men want her because shes hot
The definition of perfection deceives everyone
They think I am perfect
I have golden cascades that stay in place
Framing full yet lifeless eyes
With a painted smile on a porcelain face
Outside my looks are flawless
She stares at me with cold eyes
And she looks at me with jealousy
Because when she looks in the mirror
She doesnt see what the world sees
Staring back at her are deep brown eyes
Aged too much with hard times
She looks at my delicate nose
And sees hers has been broken twice
Against my full red lips
Hers are too small and without color
My golden locks are gorgeous compared
To her straight brown split ends
Her nails are bitten short and maybe her
Butt is a couple sizes too big
Too much hips and not enough bust
But she will never see
This is the figure girls would die for
And the body that men lust after
Her tear stained eyes only see me
Taunting her imperfections
Soon I am only pieces of perfection
Scattered on a carpeted floor
And soon I am suffocating under only
Shards left of her mirror
She says she has beaten her competition
Hugging herself and forcing a broken smile
But the only thing she will never know
Is the whole time my eyes were
Shining
Envy
Envious of her ability to
laugh and love
Gain and lose
Cry and hurt
Live and learn
She had a passion for life
That no one else could ever
Compare with
That was what made her beautiful
I am only porcelain
Painted Glass Perfection
