What's A Girl To Do

by What A Beautiful Lie   Jul 4, 2007

What's a girl to do when the past hurts too much to remember, but yet she must, she must remember;

What does she do when the day looks bright, the beauty of it lies within her reach, but her arms are frozen, because she lives in fear;

What will happen if she reaches out; will someone push her off, or will they embrace her; will you be their to catch her, or will you just let her fall;

What's a girl to do when the past hurts too much to remember; but yet she must, she must remember;

She must smile, smile for the world and all those around her; they shouldn't know her pain, they somehow make it worse, wouldn't they;

What's a girl to do when she just knows things have to change, it's getting so late; she needs to let go and breathe; breathe, in spite of all who hurt her or forever keep them with her;

What's a girl to do when the past hurts too much to remember, but yet she must, she must remember;

She needs to trust, she must learn to believe; belief in herself, her dreams, her hopes is all she needs, believing takes her half way there;

Still, she must not forget, never forget where she's been, so she never goes back, remembering just so she can move forward;

What's a girl to do when the past hurts too much to remember, but yet she must, she must
remember;

She goes on, she's better; better for having gone through, and never giving up.
