Heaven's Gates

by {Miss} [A][L][L][I][S][O][N]   Jul 4, 2007

A dull, gentle aching
Expectation now reality
Somehow we're left with only
Lumps in our throats
Tears in our eyes
And a question without an answer
Why must death end something
As wonderful as life?

Six letters stop time
Feeling only numb
And lonely
When letters form a word like cancer
We're forced believe this painful reality
That you're leaving.

Powerless
There's nothing we can do to make you stay
You're on eternal an journey
To a place where there's no pain.

When the angels decide they need you
There is nothing we can do to change fate
But just know that we'll be smiling
As you pass through heaven's gates.
