Holding My Heart

by 19Rusty   Jul 5, 2007

I looked up and the moon was so bright,
but it didn't matter at all, but how beautiful you
are tonight, and I don't have to worry because
the mornings are the same, by candle light
you are warm, and by chandelier its the same.

Stay at this pinnacle of grace,
and I promise my vision to you, of course when
we both age I'll keep the same, have the
same blood, but keep going back to the night,
and everyone we shared, side by side or on
our backs with phones, batteries that are about
to die, speaking last words in the same sense
that our eyes will never meet again.

If you fall asleep before they die I'll
breathe words of love, and suck yours into
into my life, speak them out again slowly, some
memories of happiness we'll have, the rest will
be of my concern that I may not think when it
comes to the harder times, but what I do know
is that even your breathing can keep me awake
for a little longer in this time.

A bond has circled around the strength of
us, and knowing what is trust, holding this too very
close, so whatever comes our way, we can stop
and know the ways of our doubt, and once
you get past it all the wonders
that will gleam are the ones you'll know to love.
