What the Hell, God?

by Andrew Morton   Jul 6, 2007

I know its been a long time coming
but if we can speak honestly
theres a few things i need to know
some things you need to tell me

why do you let bad things happen
narrowed only to the good people
you can call it some kind of test
but it feel like we're failing

if you give us wings so we can fly
why do so many of us fall
why do you do this to me, God
why do you do it at all

did you make a deal with the devil
did u sell our souls
like they were nothing at all?

how can you bare to look
at your words being disagreed
to bring order and justice
to an unjust society

is it just our perception
or maybe a false reception
in a time where truth is needed
why don't you let us see

to meet you face to face
we have to close our eyes
how can we believe in truth
when we're fed nothing but lies

if we are made from your image
why are still fighting wars
as if its just something to do
something to live for

a mother raising kids on her own
and she can never get a break
why do you make our lives so hard
as if our joy is yours to take

and here im sitting by myself
because there is nobody else
you've taken everything away
when ive done nothing wrong

i hold the door for the old lady
and you let it smack me in the face
i give a dollar to a man on the street
and here im struggling for food to eat

ive begged and pleaded for your help
but you left me to fight all by myself
though it may be wrong to question you
theres not much that i can do

ill have faith in you,
and put trust in you
give up my life for you
when you give me reason to
