Missing Shoulder

by JRS   Jul 7, 2007

You're more important to you than I'll ever be
I lied and lied to myself but now I see
When I need a shoulder to rest my head
So cold, you may as well be dead
I'd give the world just to help you improve
With every step you only disapprove
Distracted by everyday invitations
I guess I'll lower my expectations
Desperate for just one kind word
I'm sure you find it so absurd
From now I'll wipe away my own tears
and let the solitude quiet my fears
Suppose I need more than you could ever give
Lets assume the policy of live and let live
