~Bone of Contention~

Click click flash flash
A rash of celebretards
Picture perfect
Darlings of the media
Vapid and empty
Look out at us with soulless eyes meant to entice
But they just ice my veins

I find myself deeply annoyed
By the overabundance of plastic surgeons
And even more perturbed
With their seekers,
Those shallow tongues who vainly paste
A collage of magazine faces
They intend to steal

Who decided beauty
Was an outward thing
When the heart of it all
Nestles itself beneath the skin

Perhaps I too would schedule a face lift
If my philosophy entailed a belief
In such rubbish

Okay, you sour grape old bag
I hear you say
So who do YOU think is beautiful?

Well...

A toddling, laughing baby
A frail man cradling a stray cat
The valor of a fireman
Words of encouragement
Sincerity
Integrity
An old persons face lined with wisdom and good humor
I could go on (boy, could I)

Oh yes, there is physical perfection
But it turns into a pile of bones in the end

The person behind the image
Is what ultimately matters

Your message about beauty that lies within is astounding and uplifting. i also belive that the true beauty lies beneath the skin and reaches down to our core. you ladies did a wonderful job with your descriptive words to get this message across!!
