Goodnight insomnia

by HollywoodSmile   Jul 11, 2007

I walked along the beach, that night
the sky painted, with colors so bright
the sea glittered a brilliant blue
while the clouds danced, each one askew

i walked home from the beach, that night
as the Little fish dance, in the moonlight
the sand squished beneath my feet
as i bowed my head at the days defeat

i crawled into bed that night
and red a book, by a dim bedside light
as shadows danced upon the ceiling
my eyelids fell as i underwent a strange feeling

i slept for hours, that night
my boyfriend thought it was a strange sight
i awoke without a sickening feeling
perhaps, my body and mind may be heeling

insomnia, did not haunt me that night
maybe i finally put up enough of a fight
i slept and woke, completely refreshed
it was the first time in years i got to rest
