You were always the one
who helped me through the hard times in life

When I felt like no one could possibly help me
and all of my friends had let me down
you were there to guide me through it all

So the fact that you're gone now
Is nobody's fault but mine
Because I was the one who pushed you away
when I needed you the most

So if there's anyone to blame
for the unbearable ache deep inside of me
that is getting deeper and deeper
as the distance between us increases
blame me

I was the one who didn't appreciate
the laughters you gave me
the love you offered me once in a while

I guess it's really true
You don't know what you've got
until it's gone

    I loved it because I know exactly what you meant throughout the whole poem. I have another poem talking about the same thing called "Karma" It was a good write and it's always enjoyable to read something you can relate to.
