Gone

I was broken before she came
but she knew how to take away the pain
she picked up the pieces again
and began to help my heart mend

We danced in the rain
and washed away the shame
we ran through the woods
and lived like we knew we should

We walked and held hands
while making our plans
I would marry her
we would last forever

Then she did as all have done before
and left me broken on the floor
now noting is left
except my regret

Now she has gone away
leaving me to keep my demons at bay
I cannot survive this again
and it is time I met my end
