The Pain of Love

by Andrew Morton   Jul 28, 2007

The pain of love is worth it
bloodshot eyes from the tears
scarred soul from the fear

the pain of love is worth it
on her knees, still begging please
how can you do this to me?

the pain of love is worth it
she'll keep making up excuses
keep covering up bruises

the pain of love is worth it
words will stay on her lips
handmarks lay on her hips

the pain of love is worth it
so she takes another hit
thinking she can handle it

the pain of love wasn't worth it
because there she lays
with her unopened eyes

It was really sad. yet it is so honest, woman and man just take the beatings because they are to scared to leave. i know i was. but i thought it had a powerful message. 5/5

I really didnt expect the ending. This is a truly tragic poem, yet written in a beautiful way. I think this can teach people, that love is not always bliss, and in the life of reality, not everything ends "happily ever after"

    Take Care.
