Cosmic Thoughts

by Asani Dhoruba   Jul 29, 2007

One man, son of the midnight sky
Everlasting life, born never to die
Existing at the crossroads with the red, black and green
Grasping thoughts of African me
Construction of civilization overwhelms a soul
Keeping the culture takes its toll
Praying to the ancestors who pass scholarship on a scroll
To know everything but difficult to remember it all
The sun is universal, it will never fall
Visions and images keep the future near and strong
But without the goddess the rhythm won’t last long
The blood of the earth and sun runs inside me
Infinite tomorrow before me
Tranquility my mother, vigor my father,
Pick your path and stay on track.
The devil will attack the lost and feeble from the back.
