SLEEPSTALKING

by Grey Ajurahck   Aug 2, 2007

Sleep delays my life
and is only attained
after days of insomnia
until I am completely drained
and lapse into a breif stupor,
but I remember when I used to sleep
all the time, craving the dreams
and rejuvenation of being alive

Now I don't sleep at all
and when I do
there are no dreams I remember

And anyway, who needs sleep to feel alive
when you've been dead for so long
I can only long
for the bliss of sleep and dreams
that leave me revitalized, rejuvenated, refreshed,
alive again
with innocence and passion and purity reborn
in the new light of waking.
