Love Described

by Lauriel Chambers   Aug 7, 2007

Lean my head against the window
and I watch the clouds part ways
I sit and think about our love
as sunlight shatters in this space

How can love be described?
the finest feeling ever known
the only thing to cure the pain
when you've been feeling so alone

The deepest of all friendships
a bond that shouldn't break
a little leap of faith
that too many fear to take

Two hearts that join together
two souls dancing on the moon
two people crossing paths
not a moment too soon

The glue to fix this world
a reason for living
a universal idea
the best gift for giving

A pound of pleasure
with an ounce of pain
an aching thought
that fills your brain

The band-aid for
a heart that bleeds
the single thing
that everyone needs

One of life's greatest blessings
that slips in without a warning
and you find that you will wake up
smiling each and every morning

Lean my head against the window
as the sunlight starts to fade
I sit and think about our love
and the memories that we've made

How can love be described?
it's two lives that intertwine
it's the inner peace I feel
when your eyes look into mine.
