Arms wide open

Not the greatest but I tried.
Hope you like it!

He thought she was the one,
And asked her to marry him,
She was the one,
Who lit up his life.

The one who said she fell in love,
And he was the one,
That said he loved her back,
And she'd never lose him.

But the flame started dying,
And he decided it was time to leave,
Left her a note on her pillow,
And let the dark swallow him whole.

He walked until your feet,
Couldn't hold him any longer,
He walked until you saw,
The sun in the horizon.

He hitch-hiked until,
He thought it was far enough,
To where he thought she'd forget him
And the pain would go away.

He stretched three states,
And a thousand miles,
The only one on his mind,
Was the one he left.

The one who cared,
And the one who loved him,
The one who would always be sitting there,
When he walked through the door.

She was the first girl,
Who made his heart flutter,
The first one,
Who made him lose his words,

And that flame becomes a burning desire,
For days after,
One day a couple months later,
The phone started to ring.

He spoke a hello,
He could hear his lost lover's voice,
Breaking down and crying,
Was pushing it's way into your voice.

She speaks,

" The night you left,
Almost made me hang myself,
But I told myself if I really loved you,
I'd have to let you go.

I let you go, but the pain was still there,
I couldn't eat and I couldn't drink,
Everything I ever had,
Started draining.

I searched everywhere,
So I could drive you to where,
You wanted to be,
But I guess you were long time gone.

Theres a thousand miles between us,
And I've never moved on,
My heart still beats,
And the pain still stings.

I'll cut this short but I wanted to say,
When your ready to come home,
My arms are wide open,
Also wanted to say, good morning, I love you."

He packed what he could,
And started up his car,
He drove night and day,
To be where he should be.

Amber: Thank you for correcting my mistakes. Thanks!
