Hide & Seek

Why do I do this
it only brings about pain
close yourself off

don't listen, don't read
don't look
it won't work

can you see inside
or are you playing
your game again

I'd like to believe
the angel on the right
but the devil provokes

perhaps it's because
I too have played
and recognize the pain

other's have seen it
past comments made
so one runs and hides

but time has a way
of catching up
so don't let it happen

for the pain of today
and the pain of yesterday
will be worse tomorrow

let it go now
while you still can
don't get caught in it's grip

you search for the need
in others, to fulfill
but look within for yours

reach out and seek it
don't bury it down
fear not

the heart can forgive
if the mind is ready
prepare yours

for you're good at it
