Flaws & All.

I never chose to be this way, she thought while staring in the mirror,
her own worst enemy glaring back at her, all her flaws become her fears.

she's scared she won't be accepted, for self esteem she has none,
she thinks everyone perceives her as the annoying, nerdy one.

she's worried that her personality won't fit the qualifications of cool,
so she hides in the shadows as to not seem and feel like such a fool.

she's afraid to be told no, like so many times before,
each rejection came with a let down, she just doesn't want to be hurt anymore.

she's nervous that you will assume things that aren't necessarily true,
she doesn't want anyone to think less of her, especially you.

when I look at this girl, all I see,
is my reflection staring back at me.
