As The Years Go By

by XSugarSexSuicideX   Aug 13, 2007

As the minutes trickle past,
And the dance comes to a close,
The music stops its graceful glide,
And sleeping couples rose.
As the hours whisked away,
The year began to end,
No more days, it ends today,
The years and tears with friends.
As the days walk slowly,
We start to grow apart,
But I think of us lying together at night,
And hold you in my heart.
As the weeks fly on,
We meet people, find others,
Trying to expand our circle,
But trying to stay together.
As the months glide quickly,
The memories should fade,
But they're etched into my soul
In ruby, emerald, and jade.
As the years go by,
Our friendship stays strong,
Our lives may change,
But we'll be friends for so long.
