House of Ghosts, House of Ghouls, House of...Reality?

Way off in the Haunted City
Where no one there follows the rules,
Where ravens with one eye have songs so pretty,
Lay the Houses of Ghosts and Ghouls.
If you have brains, beware! beware!
Your blood will lie in pools,
Surely you'll be scared! be scared!
In the Houses of Ghosts and Ghouls.
But there's always someone brave enough
To wade through a mucky pond,
And laugh and boast that he's so tough
To go through, and far beyond.
So with a sneer, he lifts his sword,
And disregards "all you fools",
With a cackle and look of ultimate bored,
Runs through the Houses of Ghosts and Ghouls.
Bats, bugs, and scary things
Try to throw him off his guard,
But he disregards all of their warnings,
And jumps into the yard.
"I made it, I made it!" he screams and yells,
Then looks around and starts to see,
He walked right into a trap of Hell,
The rumored House of Reality.
Global warming, famine, and drought,
Technology and wars where even children bleed,
Broken hearts, lost love, and doubt,
That was the House of Reality.
Houses of Ghosts and Ghouls are all fun,
He thinks as he starts to flee,
To the peace of pure imagination,
Away from the House of Reality.
