A wish i thought would never come true. <3

As the day turns into night
And the sky turns deep and grey
I gaze up into the stars
I wonder- are youre looking at the same stars
Do you recollect the nights Id lay in your arms?
Id kiss you as you slept and whisper I love you
Hoping it would infect your dreams
And your distressed nightmares would become polluted
With sweet thoughts
I miss your breath on my neck
Your body beside me - now a lost shadow
My eyes squint closed,
You are here in spirit
In my heart
You are still beside me
We are cuddled
And perfectly untouchable
Secluded in our love
I open my eyes
And reality replaces the sweet thoughts with anguish
I try my hardest every night
Still searching for that shooting star-
For me to wish upon
Hoping, with every last hope, it would reach you
And guide you back to me
But I stare around the room
And realise I am alone.
Only with this little hope and forgotten memories to
Linger on.

* * Ok this 'poem' not sure you could really call it that, doesn't really have a rhyme or flow as such, This was written at a time when all i could fit into words was how i felt and i liked the lines but they were hard to re-arrange and for it to still make sense, so this is just describing the raw emotion i felt in the most lonely situation * *
