Black Dog

by DeadandBleeding   Aug 16, 2007

The black dog settles in the mind
Makes itself at home
Redecorates the walls
Changes the furniture around to suit itself
And no-one else
Eats when it feels like eating,
When it's hungry
Sleeps only when it's tired
Keeps the curtains closed
Like a recluse, a hermit
Doesn't go out or interact
Overcoming and overpowering the mentality
Controlling it like a space ship through outer space
Everything's changed, all the people,
The things that used to be fun are now obsolete
Entertainment no longer amusement but a diversion
To the life-long yearning of freedom from within
The removal of the canine the ultimate goal
But for now, survival will have to suffice
