Beyond the Vale of Tears

by Heidi   Aug 26, 2007

The moment that you died,
Our hearts split in two.
The one side filled with memories,
The other died with you.
We often lay awake at night,
When the world is fast asleep,
And take a walk down memory lane,
With tears upon our cheeks.
Remembering you is easy,
We do it every day.
But missing you is a heartache,
That never goes away.
We hold you tightly within our hearts,
And there you will remain.
Life has gone on without you,
But it will never be the same.
No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say good-bye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God can tell us why.
A few more steps along life's road,
Perhaps a few more years,
Then by God's grace we'll meet again,
Beyond the Vale of Tears.

* I found this in the news paper, it was a poem from a mother to a son. She lost him, to drunk driving. It reminded me of the loved ones I have lost. The way I didn't have enough time to say good-bye.
