Opals In The Mind

Opals In The Mind

Her love so tender,
Her heart so dear,
Undenying colour,
But now I do fear,

You're caught living high,
A mighty grasp of hate,
You're wasting golden youth,
I pray it's not too late,

Your dreams crushed forgotten,
Stop speaking without turn,
You're too heavy to start flying,
Your love has been burned,

Yes, your stars are lying,
But why do you care?
Yes, you can lose,
In your heart you won't share,

You can't have the world,
You can't have the fight,
You can't have the colours,
You can't have the night,

You're living way too high,
I'll have to bring you down,
Back to the atmosphere,
Unleash the plastic crown.

An interesting write! The flow was a bit rocky for me, but it was uniquely gone about, and a joy to read. It didn't really hook and reel me in, but it was a good poem - 4/5.
