Ode to my Valentine

by Arunansu   Sep 8, 2007

( Earlier this was "For you, my beloved". This is a modified version.)

I cherish the thirst
for a blanket of hands
in the cold.

Winters stretch out for you,
my beloved.

Desires quiver,
like shuddering sparrows
under spattering raindrops.

Monsoons get immersed in your wishes.

Rustling bed of fallen poetries
ships me to nirvana,
dreaming right through
my Autumns.

But my
Springs can not
flourish without you.

Pale faced,
they keep waiting . . .

Words fail me
the more I struggle to explain
how vacant is
your absence,
My beloved.
